Recently on the radio I heard a program by Ron Hutchcraft. He began his broadcast by telling of an exhibit in St. Paul Minnesota, of the Titanic. He said that when visitors received their admission passes, that a name of a crew member or a passenger who was on the Titanic, was printed on it. Throughout the exhibit, the visitor is led through a number of scenes that capture the flavor of the Titanic and its ill fated voyage. A replica of one or more of the cabins, dishes and dinner ware from the actual Titanic was there for them to view. A piece of the actual ship was brought up from the discovery thousands of feet below the surface. This was done to lay out as clear a picture as possible of what life was like aboard this massive ship. At the end of the exhibits the visitors come to a memorial wall on which every name is written who was on board the Titanic. At that time the visitor has the opportunity to find the name of the person on their ticket. By examining the wall, they can determine if that person was among the saved or the lost. This is so like what life is about. In this world, all of humanity (though not on a memorial wall) fall into one of these categories, either SAVED or LOST. My word for you today is: “Which category do you fit into?” It is only when we truly turn our life over to the control of One greater than we are that we really begin to live. …Jesus said, “I am come that they might have life.” (John 10:10) You too can really begin to live through Him.
It is very clear from the Bible that Jesus came to “seek and to save the lost”. (Luke 19:10) Through Christ, we have an opportunity to start life over – a brand new beginning. We have a chance to wipe the slate clean of all our mistakes and failures and start fresh. Jesus said “...him that comes after me, I will in no wise cast out.” (John 6:37) Salvation is truly available to who so ever will come. It does not matter where you have been, or what you have done. It doesn't matter how unworthy you may feel. It is because He is worthy that He can extend His GRACE to you in forgiveness. Jesus has come to give you life more abundantly. (John 10:10)
This abundant life has wonderful benefits that can belong to you. The moment that you accept Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice for you, then He comes to give you: peace, joy, rest in your soul, eternal life, purposeful living, freedom from guilt & shame, and freedom from condemnation. You do not need to try to clean up your act before coming to Him. Simply come to Jesus and He will do the cleaning up for you. He said “come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Mathew 11:28-30) Yes, we are all among one of these groups. We are with those that are LOST or we are with those that are SAVED.
Here are some guidelines if you desire to make a change in your life and come to Jesus:
Follow me in this simple prayer of salvation: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner. I have fallen short of your best for me. I know I cannot save myself, so I come to You now. I repent of my sins. Forgive me and cleanse me of my wrong. Lord Jesus come into my heart today. Give me your abundant life. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. I receive Your forgiveness and today I begin a new life with you. Amen
If you said that prayer with sincerity to the Lord, then He has accepted you as His child. Begin today following Him through prayer, Bible reading and fellowship with other believers, and you will grow stronger in your faith. I would like to know that you have prayed that prayer. If you or your family have any special needs that my wife and I can pray for you about please let us know. I certainly do not desire to take the place of your local church or your pastor, but if we can serve you in any way, feel free to contact me through the email on this website.
May the Lord bless you and keep you...
