Bluff City Sams was organized April 26, 1983 by Ken Kopinski and Cooper McRae State Director for Tennessee Good Sams and The International Good Sam Recreational Club. Bluff City Sams was chartered as Chapter 12 of the Tennessee Good Sams. The Chapter began with 13 rigs and 26 charter members. The following officers were elected:

At the June '83 campout, the logo (shown above) was presented and adopted and the Chapter approved the purchase of 3' X 6" flags (United States, Tennessee and Good Sam).
Through the years, the Bluff City Sams membership has been active with support to several charities. Funds to support these charities are raised through garage sales, raffles at the Samborees, budget allocations, auctions at campouts and personal contributions. Some charities supported by the Chapter since it's beginning are:
